Oh my god, I can't believe it has been like, five months since I've posted here.

To be fair, I haven't really done much knitting in the last five months. I've been in a bit of a funk, knit-wise. I don't really have any projects that I'm that into, which makes it hard for me to knit. I've been thinking about starting some socks. I need something that I can make some visible progress, and to be frank, I shouldn't make hats, since I don't wear them.

Though I am waiting for a pattern for a hat that I will knit for my bartender that works at the happy hour I can go to.

I also have been spending lots of time looking at mitten patterns (especially the Fair Isle patterns).

Anyway, I'm feeling sick, so no pictures or anything, but more updates to come soon...

An overdue post

This post is long overdue. I've all but finished the Tree Jacket that I've been knitting for my sister. All that I need to do is weave in the ends and block it. I have until Christmas to do it, so it might actually take a while to get it done. But that's alright, as long as it's done in time for me to give it as a gift, that's all that really matters.

I've got a few projects that I'm getting ready to start, including a set of half-fingered gloves out of malabrigo lace. I haven't gauged them or anything like that, and thus haven't cast on yet.

Also, I knit a Kiwi Hat, a la Peter (yarndude), it was really fun and easy hat to knit, I enjoyed it a lot. Ooh look! A picture!

New project!

So I cast on a new project today (I know, I have finished so many projects that I've cast on), but I figured that I needed to get started on this if I was going to finish by Christmas (especially at the rate that I've been knitting). I finally started the Icarus shawl for my mom using the Alpaca with a Twist yarn that was originally from the Seascape stole that I ripped. It's going alright, i'm sad that it loks so awful at this stage, like wet ramen...

A suprise came in the mail!

Oh look, it's a box! How interesting...

Look, who it is from... Yarn, that's interesting...

The anticipation is killing me!

Oh look!

And what's this? A spindle?

Look how pretty! Sheeps!

Instructions, they look classy.

It's the pre-pre-drafted test yarn I spun.

Look at how pretty it is.

Here is the first that I spun

It's not very pretty.

I think that I'm really gonna have to have someone show me how to do this better. Watching videos and reading about it isn't helping very much, i'm still a little unsure how to control the twist, though I suppose I will have to practice more.

Project in less than 24 hours...

So I completed the boy hat today, I cast on this project yesterday, and it was nice to cast on and cast off in a day, makes me feel better about some of my longer projects.

Not much more to this post, but here are some pictures.

Rubbing elbows with the Knitting Stars

So, guess who should show up tonight to Twisted Knit Knite? Why, it would be the ZeyphrGals who designed my tree jacket. I about peed my pants when they showed up. Not only did they come to knit knite, they came out for drinks afterward. I talked to Rachel for a long time about knitting and designing patterns, and she has put the idea in my head that I should start designing things for men, maybe I can convince them to collaborate on designs with me, that would rock ass.

I cast on the boy hat today, and am almost half way done, I should finish it tomorrow.

It was a good day for knitting.
